What is there to discover at the zoo in the evening? Join us on this journey, observe animals at dusk, gain unique insights and experience the zoo at dawn. This unique adventure awaits you: an evening stroll through the Masoala Rainforest, a delicious dinner in the open air, an overnight stay in an authentic yurt, waking up in the zoo in the morning and a delicious breakfast in the Pantanal restaurant.
The overnight stay in the yurt is a multi-person accommodation of max. 10 persons.
- Duration: 6:30 pm to 09:30 am.
- Dinner: African chicken with rice (meat) or Masoala curry with rice (vegetarian/vegan).
The nighttime ramble will take place in the tents in all weather conditions. The tents are not heated.
We are happy to accept bookings via the website. Telephone bookings are not possible. There are no waiting lists.

Prices
Nighttime Ramble for Adults
For persons 16 years and older. Cost per person: CHF 159.–.
NIghttime Ramble for Families
Specially designed for families with children (6–15 years).
- Adults per person: CHF 139.–
- Children pers person: CHF 119.–
- Max. two accompanying adults per child.

Itinerary
Start at 6:30 p.m., move into night camp at approx. 10:30 p.m., sleep at 11 p.m. End of the event at approx. 09:30 am the next morning. You can also spend the rest of the day at the zoo.
Catering
The price includes admission to the zoo for the following day, an evening snack at approx. 9 p.m., overnight stay and breakfast.
Dinner: African chicken with rice (meat) or Masoala curry with rice (vegetarian/vegan).
What to bring
The overnight stay takes place in yurts. You will need: sleeping bag, pyjamas and washing utensils. Folding mattresses (approx. 10 cm) are provided by Zoo Zurich. Please note: The yurts are not heated.
Language
The language of the Nighttime Ramble is German. It is available in French, English and Italian on request for school classes and private groups.
Dates
The dates are published on the homepage and can be booked on an ongoing basis for the season. Exact dates for publication are not fixed. As a rule, it is worth checking our homepage 2-3 months before the desired date. If all night hike dates are fully booked in advance, the new dates will be published for booking a little earlier.
