General Terms and Conditions

1. Scope of application

These General Terms and Conditions govern the relationship between the Customer (hereinafter re-ferred to as the "Customer") and Zoo Zurich AG (hereinafter referred to as "Zoo Zurich"). The offer to conclude a contract is always made by the customer by making an inquiry to Zoo Zurich about the pur-chase of an admission ticket for a visit to Zoo Zurich, an associated service or a product. The contract between the Customer and Zoo Zurich is concluded by acceptance of this request by Zoo Zurich.

A Customer is defined as any natural or legal person who maintains business relations with Zoo Zurich. The GTC may be amended from time to time.

Should individual provisions of these GTC prove to be invalid or unenforceable or become invalid or unenforceable, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.

2. Tickets

Zoo Zurich may only be accessed with a valid ticket. The tickets entitle the holder to enter and stay at Zoo Zurich during the designated opening hours.

Tickets must be presented or validated when entering Zoo Zurich and must then be carried at Zoo Zur-ich at all times. Resale of the tickets or any other commercial use is prohibited. Online tickets are also subject to the "Online Ticket Shop GTC".

3. Conditions

3.1 Prices

The prices for purchasing a ticket, an associated service or a product of Zoo Zurich can be found in the current price lists of Zoo Zurich or on local posters or online. Unless otherwise stated, all prices are in-clusive of VAT. Prices are subject to change.

Tickets acquired without authorization or used inappropriately lose their validity and must be returned to Zoo Zurich without replacement. Criminal charges may be brought against the persons concerned.

The delivery of discounted individual and group tickets, e.g. to nurseries, schools and social institutions, requires appropriate proof of eligibility.

3.2 Complaints

The customer is required to check the ticket, service or goods immediately upon receipt for correctness or absence of errors. Complaints can be made in person, by telephone or in writing (email or letter). If the customer fails to inspect the ticket, service or goods immediately upon receipt and make a corre-sponding complaint, the Zoo's services shall be deemed to have been approved.

3.3 Terms of payment

The cost of purchasing a ticket, related services or goods may be paid for locally in cash or with a credit or debit card accepted by Zoo Zurich or with coupons or vouchers accepted by Zoo Zurich. Payment by invoice is only possible after consultation with Zoo Zurich (net payment period without deductions: 30 days). A processing fee of CHF 5 is payable on invoice amounts. Payment of the invoice is only possi-ble in Swiss francs.

4. Further provisions

4.1 General safety regulations

Safety is our top priority. During their visit, the customer, alongside with the Zoo staff, must ensure that the highest possible level of security is maintained. Emergency exits and escape routes must always be kept completely clear. In the event of uncertainties, technical problems, extraordinary events or dam-age, the Day Manager must be contacted and informed immediately, either directly or through a Zoo employee.

Customers must follow the instructions for use, operating instructions as well as the instructions provid-ed by the Zoo staff. Should they fail to comply, the Zoo staff are entitled to prevent them from using the facility or request that they leave the Zoo grounds without this giving rise to a claim for compensation. Zoo Zurich accepts no liability for any damage resulting from non-compliance or non-observance of the available information, instructions or guidelines.

Any alterations or climbing on the exhibits except for the objects and attractions intended for this pur-pose are strictly prohibited. To protect the objects, please refrain from touching them.

All technical equipment and structures used by the customer, their guests or related third parties must be agreed in advance with Zoo Zurich and approved in writing. Furthermore, heat-generating lighting must not be directed at displayed objects.

4.2 Duty of supervision

4.3 Emissions and restrictions

As is known to our customers, Zoo Zurich is constantly in the process of being renovated and certain imissions and restrictions are therefore unavoidable even during a visit by the customers. The assertion of claims for damages or compensation in this respect is hereby explicitly excluded.

4.4 Attractions and exhibitions

Zoo Zurich always strives to keep the availability of attractions and exhibitions as high as possible. With regard to the animals and for other reasons, such as weather conditions, maintenance and con-struction work or for capacity reasons, etc., the purchase of an admission ticket does not entitle the holder to certain services such as the presentation of certain animals or animal species or the possibility of using all attractions at Zoo Zurich at any time. Presentation times are published on the website www.zoo.ch/veranstaltungen and on location. We reserve the right to make changes at a short notice. Unavailability of attractions and/or exhibitions does not entitle to any claim for damages or compensation from Zoo Zurich.

4.5 Catering

The restaurants at the Zoo are run by Zoo Restaurant GmbH. Food and drinks are only allowed in the restaurants and the rooms provided for this purpose.

4.6 Advertising, Sales and Give-Aways

All buildings may only be entered by Zoo employees or persons accredited by the Zoo. Riding bicycles, scooters (LIKEaBIKE), kickboards, inline skates, skateboards, etc. is prohibited. In the interest of safety and to protect all customers from injuries, it is also prohibited to play with balls, frisbees, balloons etc. Zoo Zurich also reserves the right to prohibit carrying on-site objects/articles which could represent a disturbance to other customers or our animals and the Zoo staff.

Dogs and other animals are not allowed at Zoo Zurich. Exceptions are made for registered guide dogs for the blind and registered auxiliary dogs for the disabled. There are dog boxes available (please ask at Till 1).

4.11 Handling animals, feeding

Climbing on the barriers and reaching into the animal enclosures endangers animals and humans and is therefore strictly forbidden. Animals also need rest. Loud shouting and knocking against windows is forbidden.

Species-appropriate behavior and health of the animals can only be guaranteed if the animals are fed exclusively by Zoo employees with the appropriate food. It is therefore absolutely forbidden to feed the animals, except in enclosures where food is offered by Zoo Zurich. Zoo Zurich reserves the right to ex-pel those customers who violate the feeding ban from the Zoo and to continue to prevent them from visiting Zoo Zurich in the future.

4.12 Photographing, filming

Photography and filming for private purposes is welcome. Please note the ban on flash photography in some houses.

In the aforementioned cases of violation of legal regulations or official orders, the Zoo visitor will indem-nify Zoo Zurich AG against all claims asserted by third parties against Zoo Zurich AG due to these violations. In such cases, the zoo visitor is fully liable to recourse to Zoo Zurich AG. Zoo Zurich AG is entitled to charge the Zoo visitor for all costs incurred as a result of improper or unsuitable use of the installed setups as per the subject matter of the contract.

Visitors to the Zoo are responsible for ensuring that the end device they use and the software on it are free of viruses and other malware.
