Visitor Regulations
The following rules apply to all visitors to Zoo Zurich. We reserve the right to remove from the zoo anyone who does not comply with the visitor guidelines. Visitors must follow staff instructions at all times.

General Information
For safety reasons, children under the age of twelve are only permitted to visit Zoo Zurich when accompanied by an adult. Parents are responsible for their children.
Please keep your admission ticket until the end of your visit to Zoo Zurich. Present it upon request.
Please note the opening hours of Zoo Zurich. Outside of opening hours, access to Zoo Zurich is permitted only as part of guided tours and events.
Use of the playgrounds is at your own risk. Children must be supervised.
Interacting with Animals
The animals at Zoo Zurich receive carefully formulated food that meets their needs and is suited to their behavior. To ensure the animals’ health, there is an absolute ban on feeding throughout Zoo Zurich. The only exceptions are the public feeding experiences we offer and supervise. You can find these in the daily calendar.
It is strictly prohibited to climb over barriers or reach into the animal enclosures.
Animals also need rest. It is prohibited to attract the animals’ attention in any way (e.g., by tapping on glass). Playing music, making noise, and using audio devices of any kind are not permitted at Zoo Zurich.
Dogs and/or other animals are not permitted at Zoo Zurich. Exception: Certified service dogs are allowed in the zoo. This does not apply to the walk-through Australian outdoor exhibit; service dogs are also not permitted there. No dog crates are available.
Photography and filming for personal use are permitted at Zoo Zurich. A permit is required for commercial photography or filming. Please note that flash photography is prohibited in some habitats.
Order and Consideration
Please help keep Zoo Zurich clean. Please use the trash cans provided.
Out of consideration for the animals and other visitors, smoking is prohibited in all buildings, indoor areas, and entrance areas at Zoo Zurich, as well as in walk-through habitats (e.g., the Australia outdoor exhibit). This also applies to e-cigarettes. Outside these areas, smoking is permitted outdoors and in specifically designated zones.
Please do not disturb other zoo visitors with your behavior. We will remove from the zoo any visitors who are causing a disturbance and/or are visibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Bicycles, balance bikes, kickboards, skateboards, roller skates, inline skates, scooters, etc., are not permitted at Zoo Zurich. An unattended parking area is available in front of the main entrance. If you would like to store your device in a locked room, we charge a storage fee of CHF 5 per device.
Balloons, balls, Frisbees, etc., are not permitted at Zoo Zurich.
