    Breeding Programmes

Zurich Zoo takes part in the Ex situ programmes of the european zoo association EAZA. The aim of the breeding programmes is to create self-sustaining zoo animal populations with the highest possible genetic variability. In the sense of reserve populations, they also provide animals for reintroduction if required.

Further information on the breeding programmes can be obtained from the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria EAZA.
