Cookies are small files that make it possible to store specific information related to the device on the user's access device (PC, smartphone or similar). On the one hand, they serve the user-friendliness of websites and thus the users. On the other hand, they are used to collect statistical data on website usage (e.g. advertising banners clicked on, sub-pages visited, etc.) and to be able to analyse them for the purpose of improving the offer. Users can influence the use of cookies. Most browsers have an option to restrict or completely prevent the storage of cookies. However, it should be noted that the use and especially the comfort of use will be limited without cookies.

How to disable cookies in the most popular browsers:

Zoo Zurich will use automatically stored information exclusively for statistical evaluations and, in particular, will not associate it with any personal data provided to Zoo Zurich.

The zoo platform uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. («Google»). Google Analytics uses «cookies», which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. In the event that IP anonymisation is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. The IP address transmitted by the browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other Google data.

You can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link.

By using the zoo platform, you consent to the processing of data collected by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above.

Zoo Zurich uses Google Adwords to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites with the help of advertising media (so-called Google Adwords). We can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the data of the advertising campaigns. In this way, we pursue the interest of showing you advertising that is of interest to you, of making our website more interesting for you and of being able to calculate the advertising costs.

These advertisements are delivered by Google via so-called «Ad Servers». For this purpose, we use ad server cookies, through which certain parameters for measuring success, such as display of the ads or clicks by users, can be measured. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords will store a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually lose their validity after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. The unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wishes to be addressed) are usually stored as analysis values for this cookie.

These cookies enable Google to recognise your browser. If a user visits certain pages of the website of an Adwords customer and the cookie stored on his computer has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to this page. A different cookie is assigned to each Adwords customer. Cookies can therefore not be tracked via the websites of Adwords customers. We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Based on these evaluations, we can see which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of the advertising tools, in particular we cannot identify the users on the basis of this information.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with Google's server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: Through the integration of AdWords Conversion, Google receives the information that you have called up the corresponding part of our website or clicked on an advertisement from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, there is a possibility that the provider will obtain and store your IP address.

You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways: a) by making appropriate settings in your browser software, in particular the suppression of third-party cookies will prevent you from receiving ads from third parties; b) by disabling cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain www.googleadservices.com, this setting will be deleted when you delete your cookies; c) by permanently disabling in your browser at the following link, e) using appropriate cookie setting. We would like to point out that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this offer to their full extent.

In addition to Adwords Conversion, we use the Google Remarketing application. This is a procedure with which we would like to address you again. Through this application, our advertisements can be displayed to you after visiting our website during your further internet use. This is done by means of cookies stored in your browser, which are used by Google to record and analyse your usage behaviour when visiting various websites. In this way, Google can determine your previous visit to our website. According to its own statements, Google does not combine the data collected in the course of remarketing with your personal data, which may be stored by Google. In particular, according to Google, pseudonymisation is used in remarketing.

DoubleClick by Google is a service of Google Inc. («Google»). DoubleClick by Google uses cookies to present you with ads that are relevant to you. In the process, a pseudonymous identification number (ID) is assigned to your browser in order to check which ads were displayed in your browser and which ads were called up. The cookies do not contain any personal information. The use of DoubleClick cookies only enables Google and its partner websites to serve ads based on previous visits to our website or other websites on the Internet. The information generated by the cookies is transferred by Google to a server in the USA for analysis and stored there. A transfer of data by Google to third parties only takes place due to legal regulations or in the context of order data processing. Under no circumstances will Google combine your data with other data collected by Google.

By using our website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google and the manner in which the data is processed and for the purposes set out above. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookies and related to your use of the websites to Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link under the item DoubleClick deactivation extension.

In order to ensure sufficient data security when submitting forms, we use the service reCAPTCHA of the company Google Inc. This serves primarily to distinguish whether the input is made by a natural person or improperly by machine and automated processing. The service includes the sending of the IP address and possibly other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. The deviating data protection provisions of Google Inc. apply here.

With the newsletter, Zoo Zurich informs about current news and offers. The newsletter is sent using the «Inxmail» mailing platform. If you would like to receive the newsletter, we require a valid e-mail address, title, first and last name, as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified e-mail address or that the owner agrees to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected. This data is only used for sending the newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties. When you register for the newsletter, we store your IP address and the date of registration. This storage serves solely as evidence in the event that a third party misuses an e-mail address and registers to receive the newsletter without the knowledge of the authorized person. It is also important for us to determine which contents are of interest to you in order to constantly improve our newsletter. We therefore reserve the right to use evaluation tools which allow us to recognise whether and when you have opened the newsletter and which news items are called up («click behaviour»). For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients, but no personal evaluation takes place.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time. The revocation can be made via a link in the newsletter itself or by sending a message to the contact options above.

It may happen that third-party content is integrated within this online offer, such as videos from YouTube, map material from Google Maps, audio files from Soundcloud, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites. This always requires that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as «third-party providers») are aware of the IP address of the user. Without the IP address, they could not send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore necessary for the presentation of this content. Zoo Zurich has no influence on this if the third-party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. It is also possible that third-party providers use cookies (for more details, see Cookies).

When contacting Zoo Zurich (for example via contact form or e-mail), the user's details are stored for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event that follow-up questions arise. Once the purpose of processing has been completed, all of the user's details are deleted.

Zoo Zurich provides security measures with its hosting providers to protect the databases as well as possible against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or falsification of information and personal data.

However, transmissions on the Internet can never be 100% secure. As soon as Zoo Zurich has received the transmitted information, it secures it in its systems in an appropriate manner. It is the responsibility of zoo visitors to ensure that their Internet connection is secure. Any claims for damages by the zoo Visitor resulting from the use of an unsecured connection, in particular for any damage to his or her hardware or software, loss of data or other forms of loss resulting from the use of the service, are excluded, unless the event causing the damage was caused by intentional or grossly negligent conduct on the part of the Zoo Zurich. The use of the publicly accessible Internet is therefore at the Customer's own risk.
