Cookies are small files that enable the user's access device (PC, smartphone, etc.) to store specific information relating to the device. On the one hand, they make websites more user-friendly and therefore benefit the user. On the other hand, they serve to record the website statistics (e.g. clicked advertising banners, visited sub-pages etc.) and to be able to analyze them in order to improve commercial offers. Users can manage the use of cookies. Most browsers have an option which restricts or completely prevents the storage of cookies. However, it is important to note that the usefulness and especially ease of use would be limited without cookies.

The following links will disable cookies in most popular browsers:

Zoo Zurich will automatically use stored information exclusively for statistical analysis and, in particular, will not associate it with any personal data provided to Zoo Zurich.

The Zoo platform uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. "("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyze how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about the use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the US and stored there. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, Google will reduce your IP address in line with the laws of the Member States of the European Union or in other countries party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area in advance of the transmission. Only in exceptional cases the full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the US to be shortened there. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and online usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of Google. The IP address transmitted by the browser within the framework of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

You can prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link.

By using the Zoo Platform, you consent to the processing of the data collected by Google in the manner and for the purposes described above.

Zoo Zurich uses Google Adwords to draw attention to our attractive offers on external websites with the help of advertising material (so-called Google Adwords). In relation to the data of the advertising campaigns, we can determine how successful each individual advertising measure is. We are interested in showing you the adverts that are of interest to you, to make our website more interesting for you and to calculate the advertising costs.

These advertising media are delivered by Google via so-called "Ad Servers". For this purpose, we use ad server cookies, through which certain parameters for measuring success, such as the insertion of ads or clicks by users, can be measured. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google Adwords stores a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually expire after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally. For this cookie, a unique cookie ID, a number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), the last impression (relevant for post-view conversions) and opt-out information (labeling that the user no longer wishes to be contacted) are usually stored as analysis values.

These cookies enable Google to recognize your browser. If a user visits certain pages of an Adwords customer's website and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and we can recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each Adwords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be traced via the websites of Adwords customers. We do not collect and process any personal data in the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Based on these evaluations, we can identify which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of advertising material; in particular, we cannot identify users on the basis of this information.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We have no influence on the extent and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our level of knowledge: By integrating AdWords Conversion, Google receives information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on an ad from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google may associate your visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider may obtain and store your IP address.

You can prevent participation in this tracking process in various ways: a) by setting your browser software accordingly, in particular by suppressing third-party cookies, whereby you will not receive any advertisements from third-party providers; b) by deactivating the cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser so that cookies are blocked from the domain www.googleadservices.com, this setting being deleted if you delete your cookies; c) by permanently deactivating your browser under the following link, e) by means of the corresponding cookie setting. Please note that in this case you may not be able to use all functions of this offer in full.

Besides Adwords Conversion, we also use the application called Google Remarketing. This is a process we prefer to employ to contact you again. This application allows you to see our advertisements after visiting our website when you continue to use the Internet. This is done by means of cookies stored in your browser, which are used to record and evaluate your usage behavior when Googling various websites. This is how Google can determine your previous visit to our website. According to Google's own statements, Google does not merge the data collected in the context of remarketing with your personal data, which may be stored by Google. According to Google, pseudonymisation is used for remarketing in particular.

DoubleClick by Google is a service of Google Inc. "("Google"). DoubleClick by Google uses cookies to deliver advertisements relevant to you. Your browser is assigned a pseudonymous identification number (ID) to check which ads have been displayed in your browser and which ads have been clicked on. The cookies do not contain any personal information. The use of DoubleClick cookies only allows Google and its partner websites to serve ads based on previous visits to our or other websites on the Internet. The information generated by the cookies is transmitted by Google to a server in the US for analysis and stored there. A transfer of data by Google to third parties only takes place due to legal regulations or within the scope of contract data processing. Under no circumstances will Google match your data with other data collected by Google.

By using our website, you agree to the processing of the data collected about you by Google and the aforementioned way of data processing as well as the stated purpose. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website. You can also prevent Google from collecting data generated by the cookies and relating to your use of the website and from processing this data by clicking on the following link. Download and install the browser plugin available under the DoubleClick deactivation extension.

To ensure sufficient data security during the transmission of forms, we use the service reCAPTCHA of the company Google Inc. This serves primarily to differentiate whether the input is made by a natural person or abusively through mechanical and automated processing. The service includes sending the IP address and any other data required by Google for the reCAPTCHA service to Google. The deviating data protection regulations of Google Inc. apply to this.

So-called "Facebook pixels" of the Facebook social network are used within our online offer. With the help of the Facebook pixel, Facebook is able to determine the visitors of our offer as a target group for the presentation of ads, so-called "Facebook ads". Correspondingly, we use the Facebook pixel to display the Facebook ads we post only to Facebook users who have shown an interest in our website. This means, with the help of the Facebook pixel we want to make sure that our Facebook ads correspond to the potential interest of the users and do not become an annoyance. The Facebook pixel also helps us track the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes by showing whether users have been redirected to our site after clicking on a Facebook ad.

The Facebook pixel is integrated directly by Facebook when you visit our website and can store a so-called cookie, i.e. a small file, on your device. If you then log in to Facebook or visit Facebook when logged in, the visit to our site will be recorded in your profile. The data collected about you is anonymous to us, so it does not provide us with any information about the identity of the user. However, Facebook stores and processes the data so that a connection to the respective user profile is possible. Facebook processes the data in accordance with Facebook's Data Usage Policy. Accordingly, you can find more information about how the remarketing pixel works and how Facebook ads are displayed in general in the Facebook Data Usage Policy.

You can object to the collection by the Facebook pixel and use of your data to display Facebook ads. To do this, go to the page set up by Facebook and follow the instructions for use-based advertising settings. The settings are platform-independent, i.e. they are applied to all devices, such as desktop computers or mobile devices.

It may happen that third party content, such as videos from YouTube, maps from Google Maps, audio files from Soundcloud, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites are integrated within this online offer. This always presupposes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "third party providers") are aware of the IP address of the users. As without the IP address, they could not send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is therefore required for the display of this content. Zoo Zurich has no control over this if the third-party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. It is also possible that third party providers use cookies (for more information, see "Cookies")

With the newsletter, Zoo Zurich informs you about current news and offers. The newsletter is sent via the "Inxmail" mailing platform. If you would like to receive the newsletter, we require a valid email address, the title, first and last names and information that allow us to verify that you are the owner of the email address provided or that the owner agrees to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected. This data will only be used for sending the newsletter and will not be passed on to third parties. When you register for the newsletter, we save your IP address and the date of registration. This saved data is required solely as proof in the event that a third party misuses the email address and registers for receiving the newsletter without the knowledge of the authorized party. It is also important to us to determine which content is of interest to you in order to continuously improve our newsletter. We therefore reserve the right to use evaluation tools, which allow us to recognize whether and when you have opened the newsletter and which news, are clicked on ("click behavior"). For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to individual newsletter recipients, but no personal evaluation takes place.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data and your email address as well as their use for sending the newsletter at any time. The revocation can take place via a link in the newsletter itself or by communication to the above-mentioned contact options.

When contacting Zoo Zurich (e.g. via contact form or email), the user's details are stored for the purpose of processing the request and in the event that follow-up questions arise. After completion of the processing purpose, all information provided by the user will be deleted.

Zoo Zurich and its hosting providers implemented security measures to protect the databases as much as possible against unauthorized access, loss, misuse or falsification of information and personal data.

However, Internet transmissions can never be 100% secure. Once Zoo Zurich has received any transmitted information, it will store it in its systems applying appropriate security measures. It is the responsibility of visitors to the Zoo to ensure that their Internet connection is secured. Any claims of the Zoo visitors for damages resulting from the use of an unsecured connection, in particular for any damage to their hardware or software, loss of data or other forms of loss attributable to the use of the service, are excluded, unless the event causing the damage was caused by deliberate or grossly negligent conduct on the part of Zoo Zurich AG. The use of the publicly accessible Internet is therefore at the customer's own risk.

Upon request, Zoo Zurich will provide information about personal data stored at Zoo Zurich, correct erroneous data or delete the data at the request of the person concerned. Zoo Zurich is required to verify the identity of the applicant in the event of such requests. Requests can therefore only be processed if a suitable proof of identity (copy of identity card or similar) is enclosed.

Questions and information in connection with the use of personal data at Zoo Zurich and related information/corrections may be addressed to the e-mail adress informatik@zoo.ch (Responsible contact: Gabriel Ionescu).

Zoo Zurich may be required to disclose a visitor's contact, usage and marginal data to the relevant authorities.

Zoo Zurich reserves the right to amend this data protection policy at any time in accordance with legal requirements.
